“FEEL GOOD” Watercolor painting I did today. New paper. 6X9 inches. bought two sets 30 pages each. If I can complete half a book I’ll title the collection and print it.
The last few live art outings people have asked purchase my watercolor palette. I use scratch watercolor paper when mixing colors or to water down the color on the brush pen.
It didn’t make sense to me until I saved a few and looked at them together. Here are a few.
I’m in hell. Not damnation, just hell like temperatures. 90 to 100 degrees where dwell daily. It’s hot ya’ll. It can be difficult to focus on art stuff. Since I am all about frowns upside down, then right side up thenupsidedowndownsideupupsidedown…ok I’m manic! None the less I try to make the best. I started thinking hell and high water and came up with water color exorcises! I wondered around town during high noon doodling in pockets of inspiration. With my trusty ball point pen I came up with some cool stuff. Brought them back to the inferno and began to water color them. The awesome thing was since is was soooooooo devilishly hot the colors dried and cured almost instantly.
Without further a due, I share:
Working on a lot of things here at the table, but who cares about what I’m doing? It’s really about what I’ve done. It’s cool, this is pretty much reality. I work on stuff everyday. Sometimes things are simply not ready to show. Sometimes they are not good or polished enough. Just about every day I paint a trading card or work on a sketch cover to relive stress from the long term projects I fight to see the light of day. Honestly a lot of them get shelved, but I’m working on changing this. At any rate here are some stress relievers that sometimes become a bit of stress themselves. They can be unwittingly revealing in hind sight, but this is art and expression. I have no regrets.
Here you go!
A lot of things going on. Plans, Product, inks, colors, paints, Comics! I wish I could keep up with posts and updates, but time is a relentless beast I have not yet tamed. My buddy Norm Wong is currently coloring the last 10 pages of a new comic project called Fowl. It’s a Native American Werefowl story of redemption. More about that later.
I’m currently inking pages for another comics that seems to have been on the blocks for a while called SHE That Kills The Dead. Issue 1 is a few pages away from being completely inked! Then the color process begins! It may be a while out though. My plan is to have a the very least two issues complete before it is released. Just so there is a cushion to maintain current and release on deadline.
Working on some album art for my friends The Radioactive Chicken Heads also. That band is so damn fun!
Inking pages for my upcoming art book called MY Emo Vortex.
I know there is a lot of things I’m working on and yet have produced very little. I am very aware of this believe me.
It really is a matter of making enough cash to give it the best quality I can. This has led to a lot of side jobs and juggling, but all well worth it in my eyes. I doubt anyone is as enthusiastic as me to show you guys the things I have been working on while the city has been sleeping, but I have to hold back a little longer. I hope this works….
Meanwhile here are some art card distractions that have kept me company!
Last weekend I was up to all kinds of shenanigans. During all my scramblings I managed to commit to some small paintings. I carried a few hand cut pieces of water color paper and a ball point pen. I drew little doodles, then brought them back to my studio where I finished them with water colors. I never really know what to do with these things once I finish them. I posted them on ebay for ten bucks, but no one gave a shit. To be honest I didn’t promote them too well, so I was paid fairly for the effort. Here what I squeezed out the synapse factory:
